Principals behind vehicles
Selecting vehicles for different terrains is part of the concept behind a vehicle. Just as you probably wouldn’t take your sports car four wheeling in the mountains the same principle applies to cyberspace vehicles.
Vehicles are designed to travel in interactive information spaces. But not all information spaces are alike, and beyond that there is a deeper theory behind vehicles. It’s the idea that the glasses we look through to view information determine what we see. While this seems very much like common sense. Let me just give an example if we were to walk into a room with infra-red sensors on we would see the room very differently than in the visible light spectrum.
Einstein said, “ Once I learned how to think about the problem, the rest was easy” -> how we view and how we think about information determines how we interpret and understand data and information in a given space. Part of building a good vehicle is not only stocking it with standard ways of looking at things but thinking up new ways to look at things. This often yields new insights that can lead to new theories and new paradigms in a given field. At Rational Data we try to provide multiple dimensions to certain topics in order to show aspects that might not be traditional to a field but may come from some other discipline. When we map a field we look for cross field associations that would be impossible for most human beings to read in any reasonable time frame.
Most of our networks reside within the larger Rational Data Network which has frameworks, standards and so forth for these other networks to operate within.
